At WrestleMania XL, Drew McIntyre finally won the world title in front of live fans.
However, his moment did not last long, suffering a battle with CM Punk, leading to Damian Priest cashing in his Money in the Bank contract and defeating McIntyre to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.
When the dust settled, the statistics showed that McIntyre was champion for 5 minutes and 46 seconds.
McIntyre is now fully recovered from months of injury, and the Scottish warrior is ready to regain his victory on the biggest stage.
McIntyre, who verbally attacked CM Punk in the ring and online, continued to call the notorious Archer the champion on paper.
However, Judgment Day was thrown into disarray when Rhea Ripley required surgery, but Priest was the dominant champion defeating Jey Uso at WWE Backlash France.
McIntyre stated that Priest was not focused on his title, but instead had to deal with Judgment Day issues with LWO, Braun Strowman and The Awesome Truth.
Apart from a brief match at WrestleMania XL, the Scottish Warrior defeated The Notorious Archer on the January 22 episode of this year’s Raw.
McIntyre and Priest also made a comeback together after being on the losing side of last year’s WarGames match.
In McIntyre’s native Scotland, The Scottish Warrior will enjoy home field advantage at WWE Clash at the Castle, but will it be enough to defeat Priest and reclaim the World Heavyweight Championship?
AJ Styles retiring?
Not so fast, as The Phenomenal One reminded the WWE Universe of just how evil he is after tricking Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes into thinking he was hanging up his cleats.
Just as Rhodes let his guard down, Styles caught The American Nightmare off guard with a Phenomenal Styles Clash off the ring steps onto the floor.
With the ploy complete, Rhodes responded with a twist by giving Styles an Undisputed WWE Title match at WWE Clash at the Castle: Scotland.
Rhodes requested that the match be a “quit” match.
Neither Superstar has ever competed in an “I Quit” match in a WWE ring.
These two Superstars fought in a classic match for the ages at Backlash: France, where Rhodes emerged victorious.
Since then, Rhodes has defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against United States Champion Logan Paul at WWE King & Queen of the Ring.
And Styles has once again risen to title contention after his vicious attack in a loss to Randy Orton in the first round of the King of the Ring tournament.
Who will utter the dreaded words when two fearsome words collide in one of the most personal and brutal match formats in WWE history?
The WWE Women’s Championship is up for grabs when Bayley defends her title against Scotland’s Piper Niven.
Since winning the title at WrestleMania XL, Bayley has been tormented by Niven and Chelsea Green, so much so that General Manager Nick Aldis named the Scot as his No.
1 “Role Model” candidate.
Queen Nia Jax has already secured a championship match at SummerSlam.
Which Superstar will face her?
At WWE Clash at the Castle, Sami Zayn will face Chad Gable in a rematch for the Intercontinental Championship.
After Zayn defeated Gable in the final portion of a gauntlet match to earn the right to challenge Gable for the title at WrestleMania, Master Gable trained the determined challenger and helped him put an end to the longest Intercontinental title reign in WWE history.
In return, Zayn offered Gable a chance to win the title.
However, after Sami’s victory in Montreal, Gable was enraged and launched a brutal attack against the titleholder.
A bitter Gable was quick to shift the blame onto his allies, blaming Alpha Academy for failing in the ring and not doing enough to help him win the gold.
At the same time, he continued to debate with titleholders, with Zayn winning against Gable and “Big” Bronson Reed at the WWE King & Queen of the Ring.
The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship is on the line as Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill defend their titles against Alba Fire & Ayla Dawn and Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match.
Since stripping Damage & CTRL of their titles at Backlash France, the champions have enjoyed a dominant reign, but after defeating Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell, they face a new threat.
Fire and Dawn are hungry for a title match and will be getting one in their native Scotland, giving Belair and Cargill perhaps their biggest challenge yet.
After both the teams of Fire and Dawn and Baszler and Stark attacked the champions on Raw and SmackDown, Cargill and Belair announced that they would defend their titles against both teams at Clash at the Castle.
