CM Punk takes the war against the incandescent foe Drew McIntyre inside Hell in a Cell at WWE Bad Blood.
When Punk got injured in the Royal Rumble Match, McIntyre said that he prayed for it to happen and ruthless mocked Punk at his misfortune. His actions, however would have consequences.
Punk saw McIntyre win the World Heavyweight Title off Seth “Freakin” Rollins at WrestleMania XL. However, McIntyre was soon too in love with Punk to enjoy his moment when Damian Priest came in and cashed in a Money in the Bank contract to defeat McIntyre and take the World Heavyweight Title for himself. Punk then took away a title opportunity the following Monday night on Raw and interfered in McIntyre’s World Heavyweight Title Match against Priest at WWE Clash at the Castle.
An angry McIntyre fired back in calculating fashion when he pretended to quit WWE, before unleashing a vicious attack on Punk on SmackDown and stealing a bracelet that represented Punk’s love for his wife and dog.
McIntyre then capitalized to win the Money in the Bank Ladder Match and insert himself into the World Heavyweight Title match between Priest and Rollins that very same night and, of course, had Punk cost him the title once again.
When the two finally faced each other in a much-anticipated showdown at SummerSlam, McIntyre emerged victorious over Punk after an altercation between Punk and special guest referee Rollins ensued.
In a vicious Strap Match at WWE Bash in Berlin, Punk appeared as if he finally closed the book on the scorching feud when he beat McIntyre and regained his prized bracelet. McIntyre didn’t get the message, though, dishing out another vicious attack that included several Claymore Kicks on the Sept. 2 episode of Raw. He then again removed the bracelet from Punk’s wrist and tore it apart.
Because of that, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce made a third match for Punk and McIntyre for Bad Blood, and it’s going to take place inside the brute Hell in a Cell.
It is a battle for first time between former Judgment Day teammates Damian Priest and Finn Bálor at Bad Blood.
With Rhea Ripley and “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio, Priest and Bálor had one of the most successful tandems of their generation, picking up both the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Title twice apiece, solidifying The Judgment Day as a presence to be reckoned with.
The group imploded when Dirty Dom turned on Ripley during the Women’s World Title Match against champion Liv Morgan at SummerSlam and when Bálor cost Priest the World Heavyweight Title against Gunther.
Since then, Priest and Ripley have been itching to get their payback, and Priest will get his when he and Bálor battle it out at Bad Blood.
The bitter feud between Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley will reach a boil, appropriately, in WWE Bad Blood as the two Superstars finally settle their grudge in a grueling long-match showdown.
The history between these two Superstars dates back two years with blindsides, attacks with serious injury, and home wrecking and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Morgan and Ripley squared off for SummerSlam, when Morgan retained her title thanks to an action from former lover “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio against her. Mysterio turned on Ripley during the match, where he enabled Morgan to retain her title, so he walked out of the arena locking arms and smooching Morgan, shocking Ripley.
Ripley and fellow “Terror Twin” Damian Priest were later officially booted from The Judgment Day by the actions of Finn Bálor as he turned on Priest at SummerSlam as well.
At WWE Bash in Berlin, Ripley and Priest were able to gain some retribution as they defeated Morgan and Mysterio in a Mixed Tag Team Match, with Ripley getting the decisive pinfall on Morgan.
On the September 23, 2024 installment of Raw, Rhea Ripley made it abundantly clear that “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio was to be holed up in a shark cage suspended above the ring, making Morgan go all in — all alone — on Mami.
Ripley will look to settle a score with the woman that destroyed her life, and to regain the title she never really lost.
Undisputed WWE champion Cody Rhodes will partner with former enemy and the superstar he dethroned at WrestleMania XL, Roman Reigns, to battle The Bloodline.
Reigns returned victorious at SummerSlam to drive his ire into Solo Sikoa and reclaim The Bloodline’s dominance, but the collective muscle of Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa laid out The Original Tribal Chief in a spectacular showdown back on SmackDown.
This attack left Reigns out cold, but he was back again for the USA premiere of Friday Night SmackDown to help The American Nightmare check and balance an onslaught.
With the two archenemies now on the same side of the ring, Rhodes and Reigns will team up to take on Solo and The Samoan Werewolf in one of the biggest tag team matches of all time.
WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax will look to crush former titleholder Bayley when they meet in a hotly-anticipated SummerSlam rematch for the title.
Bayley’s latest run was brought to a premature conclusion at The Biggest Event of the Summer, as interference by Ms. Money in the Bank Tiffany Stratton helped the 2024 Queen of the Ring capture the title.
After Naomi and Bayley pinned Jax at the same time in a tag team showdown on a Friday night, it was anyone’s guess as to who would challenge the dominant titleholder. A week later, Bayley emerged victorious over Naomi in an explosive one-on-one showdown finally earning Bayley the right to challenge the WWE Women’s Champion in Atlanta.
